Porto
de Galinhas
In the last few years the little fisherman's village of Porto
de Galinhas became one of the most important tourist attractions of Brazil. A gorgeous
long coast of white sand, coconut trees, crystal clear water, and a rich natural
reef life, attracts tourist from all over the world. The reefs form swimming pools
where you can snorkel or swim with tropical coloured fish in water that is 28 degrees
the whole year round. The village has a nice nightlife, with cosy shops, restaurants
and bars, where you can enjoy the smooth sounds of the bossa nova. Here you surely
get into the mood of a tropical, warm vacation. With a buggy you can make beautiful
excursions along the coast, stopping as you wish in beaches such as Mur
o Alto, Maracaipe, and further to Gaibu, Calhetas, Cabo de Santo Agostino. In a jangada
of a fisherman you can be taken to the reefs in front of the village and to the
natural swimming pools of Porto, or into the mangroves of Maracaipe, and have the
opportunity to see seahorses and aratú crabs.
